Kaju chicken (cashew chicken) is a typical India dish which is best served with garam-garam Tawa roti or parantha. This chicken recipe is based primarily on kaju (cashew nuts) paste.
Ingredients:
- Chicken leg - 6 pieces
- Kaju (Cashew nuts) paste - 4-5 table spoon
- Onion - 2 medium size
- Cinnamon (dalchini) - 1 inch stick
- Cloves (laung) - 5-6 pieces
- Red chili powder -1/2 tea spoon
- Ginger powder - 1 tea spoon
- White oil - 5 table spoon
- Turmeric - 1/4 tea spoon
- Salt to taste
- Sugar - 1/2 tea spoon
- Water - 1 cup
Method:
- Make a powder of cinnamon and cloves in a mixer
- Roughly chop the onions
- Heat the oil
- Add onion and fry it till it turns a bit brownish
- Add kaju paste, cinnamon & cloves powder, ginger powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, sugar and salt
- Fry them well till you see the oil to separate
- Add the chicken mix it well and then cover with lid and leave in low flame for 5 minutes
- Add water and boil the chicken under lid. Stir at regular intervals.
- Keep cooking till the chicken is soft enough
Now its ready to serve.
