Prawn Malaikari (Chingri malaikari)

Prawn malaikari (called Chingri malaikari or maybe chingri malaicurry in Bengali) is one of the most sought after Bengali prawn recipe. Its a delicious yet easy recipe whether its jamai sasthi or just a family lunch or dinner. Ingredients for chingri malaikari:
- Prawn (10-12 medium size) - galda chingri will be great
- Coconut milk powder - 4 table spoon, pasted in water
- Onion - 1 small - finely chopped
- Ginger powder (or paste) - half teaspoon
- Tomato - 2 medium - pasted
- Red chili powder - one-third teaspoon
- Salt
- White oil
- Green cardamom - 6 pieces
- Sugar - 2 teaspoon
- Water - 2 cups
Method to prepare Prawn malaikari:
- Heat sufficient quantity of oil in a frying pan to shallow fry the prawns
- Now take 4 tablespoon of oil and heat it.
- Add the green cardamom, finely chopped onion to the oil and add one-third tea spoon of salt. Fry for 1-2 minutes.
- Add tomato paste, ginger powder, red chili powder, salt (half tea spoon), sugar (2 tea spoon) and stir fry till oil separates.
- Add prawn and water
- Boil for 2-3 minutes
- Add coconut paste and boil for 1-2 minutes
Its now ready to serve!
